About Me

Shashank Mehendale is a talented musician and this comes as no surprise since he hails from a family of musicians. He has been playing the tabla for over 15 years now, under the tutelage of Pt. Sadanand Naimpalli and later, Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. He was initiated into vocal music by his sister, Shubhangi Sakhalkar, herself a noted vocalist and a professional Hindustani Classical Singer residing in San Jose, USA. He is now undergoing training in Hindustani Light Classical from his guru, Shri Mohinderjit Singh.

A graduate in Science & a management student, he has worked for over 15 years in the IT industry (in India & USA) as a Resourcing Manager. Presently he is working at Webaroo Technology India Pvt. Ltd. as Head – HR & Corporate.

He took music composing seriously during 2002 and recorded 8 songs at a studio in Andheri, with an intension to make an album. When approached a few music companies later, he didn’t get a favorable response since he was a novice and the re-mix market was in boom. Today, in 2004, when the re-mix music is slowly fading away, he thinks that this is the right time to hit the market.

He is inspired by composers like R. D. Burman and Madan Mohan. His favourite singers are Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi.
